Hugo Lyons, Registered Nurse (RN) - Managing Director
Qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1992, Hugo worked at University College Hospital in Central London before setting up Health Professionals in 1996 in response to the recruitment crisis then gripping the National Health Service (NHS).
It was while working at an inner city unit, that Hugo noticed an over reliance on agency nurses and realised the value of recruiting from countries like America, Canada, New Zealand and Australia as a way of finding permanent specialist nurses for the NHS. Subsequently, Health Professionals accompanied certain NHS hospitals on a global mission to successfully recruit experienced staff for London NHS single-specialty hospitals such as Moorfields Eye Hospital and The Royal Brompton Hospital (Cardiothoracic.)
Hugo also holds a Law degree and today, oversees overall operations and manages the company’s IT infrastructure and website portals. Hugo says: “We simply strive to bring the highest skilled people to our world-class clients. Today, in healthcare, the sheer variety and uniqueness of the opportunities available makes our mission incredibly interesting and worthwhile – for us, our clients and our candidates.”
